In this case study, we get insights from MUDr. Karin Černá, from the ISCARE Clinic in the Czech Republic. The clinic has a distance care service aiming for improved remote care of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). As of the beginning of 2022 in the Czech Republic, remote care for patients diagnosed with IBD is covered by public health insurance. The reimbursement process of remote IBD monitoring was made possible thanks to the use of the CalproSmart® self-test.

The article showcases a practical sample of how digital healthcare solutions (e-health) enable healthcare providers to remotely monitor patient health and provide real-time data on their condition. This helps reduce costs and time associated with direct patient visits and allows the patient to have better self-control.

Remote monitoring or e-health has revolutionized how healthcare is delivered and will undoubtedly play an essential role in the future of healthcare delivery models.
