Cell-based reporter gene assays is a very important area for the future growth of the Svar Life Science business, and we are now strengthening our capacity for supplying world leading, genetically engineered mammalian cells for in vitro assays in research, pharmaceutical development and production as well as for clinical diagnostics.

We are looking for a qualified person with a background in mammalian cell production and testing, with hands-on experience of mammalian cell-based assays and of performance evaluation of cells produced.

ABOUT THE JOB

As part of a small cell production team, the work is done in close cooperation with the responsible function as well as with our logistics team that are responsible for purchase, production planning, order and shipping to ensure continuous supply according to forecast and orders.

In close cooperation with our cell development unit in Paris, the Laboratory Engineer plays a key role in the transfer and implementation of new, or improved cell lines, for commercial use.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participating in cell and reagents production

  • Actively participating in hybridoma culturing, antibody production

  • Driving and/or participating in investigations and projects

  • Ensuring availability of cells for in vitro assays

  • Actively supporting transfer projects for new cell lines from our Paris facility to Malmö

  • Living up to requirements in the Quality system

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate has educational qualifications including academic training in biological sciences. You enjoy working in a dynamic and ever changing environment where tasks and priorities can change quickly. To fit, and complement, the team you should have a positive, problem solving mindset.

We expect you to have knowledge of basic quality system regulations and procedures, as well as good written/oral communication skills (Scandinavian and English).

Experience from BioPharma, medical device or similar is an advantage.

You have experience in small to medium scale mammalian cell production, experience in using and troubleshooting cell-based assays and are experienced within development of cell lines, including subcloning, we are very happy to talk to you.
