Suspicion of Myasthenia Gravis (MG) and thymoma

Method

Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF)

Reference interval

<1/20 negative

Result

Results are reported as negative or positive with fluorescence intensity.

Interpretation

Antibodies against striated muscle can be specific for Titin which is associated with late onset Myasthenia Gravis (MG).
