Bullous Pemphigoid (BP180/BP230) Antibodies (IgG)

Diagnostic test for antibodies against BP180 (IgG) and BP230 (IgG). For suspicion of autoimmune skin diseases such as pemphigoid and differential diagnosis of pemphigus, EBA etc.

Suspicion of Bollous pemphigoid and differential diagnosis of pemphigus and EBA

Result

Results are reported as negative or positive with a ratio.

Interpretation

Antibodies against BP180 occurs in almost all patients with Bullous pemphigoid (BP). The level of antibodies correlates with disease activity. Antibodies may be associated with paraneoplastic pemphigoid and different variants of BP (Pemphigoid gestationis, Cicatricial pemphigoid).

Antibodies against Dystonin occur in Bullous pemphigoid (BP). The antibodies are directed against the basement membrane and are present in approximately 65% of patients with BP.
