C1q
Diagnostic test for C1q. For investigation of inflammatory system disorders, glomerulonephritis and recurrent urticaria or angioedema.
Indication
Investigation of inflammatory system disorders, glomerulonephritis and recurrent urticaria/angioedema. In some patients, C1q should be followed as an indicator of disease activity.
Method
The analysis is performed on plasma with nephelometry.
Result
The result is given as value in mg/L and as normal, elevated or lowered. Reference interval: 182-288 mg/L.
Interpretation
C1q is a component of the C1 complex of the classical pathway of complement activation. Several functions have been assigned to C1q, which include antibody-dependent and independent immune functions, and are considered to be mediated by C1q receptors present on the effector cell surface.
