Method

Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF)

Reference interval

<1/5 negative

Result

Results are reported as negative or positive with fluorescence intensity.

Interpretation

IgA antibodies against endomysium strongly suggests celiac disease.

Note! Determination of IgA level in serum is not included in the test and is analysed separately. In case of IgA-deficiency (IgA<0,07 g/L in blood) analysis of IgG antibodies against endomysial tissue or transglutaminase 2 is then recommended.
