Result

Results are reported as negative or positive med titer.

Interpretation

Antibodies against lactoferrin can be detected in several chronic inflammatory conditions but the diagnostic value is limited. Antibodies against lactoferrin is frequently found in ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis, but can also be of value in diagnosing autoimmune pancreatitis.
