Suspicion of paraneoplastic retinopathy (Carcinoma Associated retinopathy CAR).
Method
Immunoblot.
Answer
Serum: The result is reported as negative, borderline or positive with a value (blot intensity).
CSF: The result is reported as negative, borderline or positive
Interpretation
Antibodies against recoverin occurs almost exclusively in small cell lung cancer with paraneoplastic retinopathy.
