Results are reported as negative or positive.
Interpretation
In cases of tumor-like pancreatic lesions of unknown origin, antibodies against carbonic anhydrase are associated with an autoimmune pancreatitis instead of underlying malignancy. In other cases, these antibodies are of low diagnostic value since they can be found in several inflammatory conditions.

Tolkning
I fall med oklara tumörliknande förändringar i pankreas talar förekomst av antikroppar mot carbonic anhydrase II för autoimmun pankreatit istället för bakomliggande malignitet. Dessa antikroppar har i övrigt lågt diagnostiskt värde eftersom de kan påvisas vid ett flertal andra inflammatoriska systemsjukdomar.
