Diagnostic test for antibodies against Beta-2-Glycoprotein 1 (IgA). For suspicion of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).
Indication

Sample material
Serum
- Minim. volume: 0,5 mL
Transport
- Within Sweden: room temperature
- International: cold
Method
ELISA
Reference interval
<20 U/mL negative
Result
Results are reported as negative or positive with a concentration (U/mL).
Interpretation
IgA-antibodies against Beta-2-Glycoprotein-1 are included in the SLICC-criteria for SLE and have been reported to occur in “seronegative” cases with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), i.e. without detection of lupus anticoagulant, IgG and/or IgM antibodies against Cardiolipin and/or Beta-2-Glycoprotein-1.
