iLite® IL-6 Assay Ready Cells
BM4061
This reporter gene assay delivers reproducible, cell-based detection of IL-6 bioactivity — supporting the characterization of inflammatory response modulators and anti-IL-6 therapeutics.
- High sensitivity and large dynamic range
- "Assay-ready" format for rapid and convenient use
- Reproducible and biologically relevant results
- Reduced assay variability and higher reproducibility compared to cells in culture
- Normalization of cell counts and serum matrix effects using a second reporter gene
Product Overview
iLite® IL-6 Assay Ready Cells is a genetically engineered reporter gene cell line, based on the human embryonic kidney cell line, HEK293, and genetically engineered and optimized to be responsive to human IL-6. The cells' response to IL-6 results in a proportional expression of Firefly Luciferase.
These cells allow for the testing of specific IL-6 activity and screening for unwanted inhibitory activity of IL-6. The activity of IL-6 and its agonist and antagonist can be assayed in a functional and biologically relevant format.
Normalization of cell counts, and serum matrix effects is obtained by a second reporter gene, a Renilla Luciferase reporter gene construct, under the control of a constitutive promotor.
