Dopamin-2 Receptor Antibodies (IgG)
Indication
Suspicion of autoimmune encephalitis.
Method
Indirect immunofluorescence. The method is not yet validated.
Response
Reported as negative or positive with titer.
Can be tested in serum and CSF.
Interpretation
Autoantibodies against Dopamine-2 receptor (D2R) have been reported in a few cases of pediatric autoimmune encephalitis. Typical clinical features in children are encephalitis with predominant movement disorders, psychiatric symptoms, sleep disturbance, mutism, and decreased consciousness.

Tolkning
Autoantikroppar mot Dopamin-2-receptor (D2R) har rapporterats i ett fåtal fall av pediatrisk autoimmun encefalit. Typiska kliniska bilder hos barn är encefalit med dominerande rörelsestörningar, psykiatriska symptom, sömnstörningar, mutism och sänkt medvetande.
