Results are reported as negative or positive with a titer.

Interpretation

AMA type M2 is a strong marker for established or future development of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and occurs in about 90% of the cases. PBC is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the intrahepatic bile ducts resulting in cholestasis.

Tolkning

AMA typ M2 är en stark markör för manifest eller framtida utveckling av primär biliär cholangit (PBC) och förekommer i drygt 90% av fallen. PBC är en kronisk autoimmun sjukdom som drabbar de intrahepatiska gallgångarna med kolestas som följd.
