Vial

INDIVIDUAL TEST 086

Adrenal Cortex Antibodies

Indication

Suspicion of primary Addison’s disease (idiopathic adrenal cortex insufficiency)

Sample material

Serum

  • Minim. volume: 0,5 mL

Transport

  • Within Sweden: room temperature
  • International: cold

Method

Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF)

Reference interval

<1:20 negative

Result

Results are reported as negative or positive with fluorescence intensity.

Interpretation

Antibodies against adrenal cortex are detected in about 70% of patients with primary adrenal cortex insufficiency which is more common in women and associated with other autoimmune diseases, e.g. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, juvenile diabetes mellitus or pernicious anemia. Analysis of autoantibodies against 21-hydroxylas is to be preferred since they are a more sensitive and more specific marker for this disease.

ENSKILD ANALYS 086

Binjurebark-antikroppar

Indikation

Misstanke om primär Addisons sjukdom (idiopatisk binjurebarksinsufficens)

Provmaterial

Serum

  • Minim. volym: 0,5 mL

Transport

  • Inom Sverige: rumstemperatur
  • Internationellt: kylt

Metod

Indirekt immunofluorescens (IIF)

Referensintervall

<1:20 negativt

Resultat
