Results are reported as negative or positive with a value.

Interpretation

Antibodies against HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR) are strongly associated with necrotizing autoimmune-myopathy and can be triggered by ongoing or prior statin treatment. Antibody levels are typically elevated at diagnosis and lower during remission.
