Product Overview

The WIESLAB® Complement System MBL Pathway kit is an immunoassay for the qualitative determination of complement function in human serum. The assay provides MBL complement pathway specific functional assessment, aiding in detection of MBL pathway deficiencies.

The Wieslab Complement assay combines the specific activation of the pathway with the use of labeled antibodies specific for TCC (C5b-9), detecting a neoepitope of the Terminal Complement Complex, produced as the result of complement activation. The amount of detected TCC is proportional to the functional activity of the complement pathway in the sample.

By specifically only detecting de novo generated TCC, the Wieslab Complement System MBL Pathway kit provides qualitative results of MBL pathway function, demonstrating if the pathway is preserved or deficient.
