This year marks a significant milestone in immunology and diagnostic science: the 20th anniversary of the WIESLAB® Complement System kits. Since its launch in 2005, this pioneering kit has redefined how complement activity is assessed, empowering researchers with a robust tool to investigate the complexities of the complement cascade and uncover new insights that have driven therapeutic innovation.
Over the past two decades, WIESLAB kits have earned a reputation for quality, consistency, and scientific rigor. Their continued relevance is a testament to their robust design and the growing importance of complement system analysis in modern medicine.
Here’s to 20 years of excellence—and to many more years of advancing immunological diagnostics.

The journey began with a visionary collaboration led by Professor Mohamed Daha, who served as the project manager of the consortium responsible for developing the screening kit.
Their work culminated in the landmark publication by Seelen et al. in Journal of Immunological Methods (2005; 296, 187-198), which laid the foundation for what would become a cornerstone in complement diagnostics.
To commemorate this achievement, we invited Professor Daha to reflect on the Wieslab project's evolution, its significance, and the collaborative spirit that fueled its success.

The complement system is a complex hub-like network of over 50 proteins-fluid-phase, cell-surface associated, and intracellular-that work together to maintain immunosurveillance and homeostasis.
To help visualize this complexity, we're offering a free roadmap poster that illustrates the pathways and interactions within the complement system.
Over the past two decades, the WIESLAB Complement System kits have been cited in numerous scientific publications, underscoring their impact and reliability.
