The CalproSmart self-test is a rapid test for distant monitoring of patients with established chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease. Being a pro-active test, the patient will perform the Calprotectin test at home with regular intervals or at their own discretion.
Studies show that Calprotectin, an inflammatory biomarker, will start to increase 3-6 months before the clinical symptoms are registered by the patient, making it possible to detect and treat a flare at sub-clinical levels.
The test is based on lateral flow immunoassay principles, while utilising app-based technology on mobile phones (Android and iOS) with step-by-step guide, to give quantitative results. The range for the test is 77-1500 mg/kg.
In order to use the test, an online “clinic” (web portal) is created by the hospital, where users and patients are registered, and this is also where patient test result data is stored. Patient results are sent to the web portal, while at the same time an encrypted email is sent to a pre-determined healthcare professional for follow up. The test can be linked to hospital journal systems through API integration. You can even link our App directly with other Apps using our Deep-Link function.
The test is available in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 tests per kit, with up to 24 months shelf life.
