The iLite® C3a Assay Ready Cells enable a precise assessment of the C3a peptide levels with high specificity for C3a and with no cross reactivity for C4a, C5a and C3a des-Arg.

Ideal for potency studies of therapeutics that aim at modulating C3a-mediated inflammatory and immune responses including C3aR antagonists and drug candidates acting upstream of C3 cleavage in the complement cascade. C3a is also an essential biomarker and indicator molecule for the evaluation of efficacy and potency of drug candidates acting upstream in the complement cascade through different therapeutic strategies.

iLite® C3a Assay Ready Cells

Product Overview

iLite® C3a Assay Ready Cells are human HEK293 cells genetically engineered to be responsive to human complement component 3a (C3a), resulting in a proportional expression of Firefly Luciferase.

This cell line is optimized for the quantification of C3a activity, and for the determination of inhibitory activity against either C3a itself or against the C3a receptor in test samples, including human serum.

Normalization of cell counts and serum matrix effects is obtained by a second reporter gene, a Renilla Luciferase reporter gene construct, under control of a constitutive promoter.
